Facebook Jobs Shutting Down in 2023: What Driver Recruiters Need to Know

If you're a social media user, chances are you've run across a job posting while scrolling through your newsfeed. Facebook Jobs – the social media giant's job posting and recruitment platform – has been around since 2016 (in fact, Conversion was one of the first to test it out!).
In December, Meta announced that its Facebook Jobs service would be discontinued. Effective February 22, 2023, employers will no longer have access to post new jobs and job seekers will be unable to apply using the Facebook Jobs platform. The news comes just under a year after Meta sunsetted its Facebook Jobs API, which enabled employers to publish jobs en masse via an XML feed.
This announcement has left many in the driver recruiting community wondering what this means for their businesses. Although Facebook Jobs historically had the advantage of capturing more active job seekers, the changes deployed in early 2022 made it more challenging for companies to scale their efforts as they had before. So, while Facebook Jobs was a handy tool in the toolbox, its demise won't have major implications for driver recruiting teams.
It's important to note that these changes do not impact the ability to run recruitment advertising on social media and, in fact, using social advertising can be a great way to supplement a strategy that previously relied on Facebook Jobs. Additionally, you can continue sharing specifics on jobs through social content from time to time if you're looking for ways to put extra emphasis on certain opportunities.
