She’s a leader in our organization, and we couldn’t be prouder to announce her promotion today.

Conversion Interactive Agency announced today Karen Hines has been promoted to Senior National Sales Director.

We sat down with Karen and learned more about her time in the industry, why she’s called Conversion home for so long, and of course, her prediction on her Crimson Tide for this season. Here’s our conversation with Karen Hines …

1. What do you love most about the trucking industry?

That’s simple, for me it has always been about the people and the relationships I have built over the years. It is such a close-knit group of people, no one ever leaves unless it’s time to retire.

    2. What do you value and enjoy most about being a sales leader for Conversion Nation?

Being a sales leader for Conversion is rewarding and I enjoy the teamwork and collaboration. I value the relationships both within our walls and within the industry. Conversion Nation is about working hard and playing hard – it really is the best of both worlds.

    3. Why have you called Conversion your career home for more than a decade?

I believe in our company. We have an amazing team of people that work so well together. We have a great group of clients that not only forge friendships with our team but with each other. And I truly believe we are the best at what we do! It makes me proud to be a part of the Conversion team. We have always been the first to go-to market with our innovative solutions, and it is fun to see how what we do impacts our clients success.

      4. You are one of the most well-respected recruiting minds in the industry. What does it take to sustain a successful career in trucking?

Be honest, do what you say you are going to do, and never burn a bridge. This is a small, close-knit group of people, and if you do what you say you are going to do and listen to your clients’ challenges and pains, you can help them. If you do these things, at the end of the day you will have a rewarding career and meet great people along the way.

      5. When you’re not working with carriers on their recruitment marketing strategies, what do you like to do for fun?

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love to travel and listen to live music! Or travel and eat good food. Or travel and visit my friends and family. I also enjoy football, hiking, hanging with our dogs, and just exploring.

        6. Rumor has it you’re an Alabama fan. What’s your prediction for this football season for the Tide?

Yes, Alabama is my alma mater, and I am a die-hard Bama fan. I bleed crimson red. My prediction for Alabama this year….National Champions. If you believe in your team, then you believe you can win!

          7. Tell us something about you we’d be surprised to find out.

My entry into this industry was through a dinner table discussion over the Thanksgiving holidays. I was unhappy with my job and looking to do something different. My brother and his partner had just started a trucking magazine with the help of my father, and he needed someone to assist with selling advertising to trucking executives. I had been working at a large ad agency in Atlanta and the thought of traveling the country meeting new people sounded exciting. I started working with him in 1988. I never would have imagined I would merge the two together and one day work for the largest and most innovative transportation agency in the industry.
